Home and Away: Romeo in the Spotlight

One of Summer Bay’s most likeable and popular characters, Romeo Smith is aptly named!

He’s been seen with many of Home and Away’s most eligible girls on his arm, and yet never seems to make it stick. Some people find his take-me-or-leave-me personality a little too much, but others admire him for his undying self-confidence. That’s why we love him, after all!

That’s not to say that Romeo is a superficial character for there is much more to him than meets the eye. He’s got the gift of the gab, he has the hot looks, he’s not afraid to put himself out there, but he has a past that is not conventional in any way, shape or form. It’s the present that is important, however, and that’s what we look forward to in the coming week as poor Romeo looks like making a mess of things again!

Romeo’s unconventional past mirrors that of Luke Mitchell, the actor who plays him on Home and Away. Luke was never set to act, he was in fact aiming to take up tennis as a professional! Having played since the age of five, Luke decided that it was taking up too much of his life, and promptly gave it up, much to the surprise of his tennis playing family!

We’re glad he took up acting, because Romeo is a welcome presence in Summer Bay, and enjoy the ups and downs of his less than ordinary life! Long may he continue to entertain us!
